I know there are tons of keyword spy software apps out there, but I don’t really like any of them because 1, I don’t know how they work, 2, I don’t know where they claim to pull their information from, and 3, most of them have never been 100% accurate whenever I’ve tested them on my own campaigns.

The thing I like about PPC bully is that it monitors real life campaigns over time. So you know for a fact that the stats it brings back are accurate. It’ll give you the ads, the time they’ve been displayed, the destination and display URL’s, whether or not the ad you’re spying on is an affiliate campaign or not, etc. etc. etc…

Here’s all the things I love about PPC Bully

- It supports nearly every affiliate network you could want, including CPA networks, so if you’re monitoring an ad that’s been up for quite some time on a certain keyword, you can find out where to apply for the same affiliate program the person running the ad is a member of.

- It’s flexible for your needs. You can get packages for monitoring 500, 1000, 2000, or 5000 keywords. It all depends on your needs. So there isn’t one bulk level to sign up for that is really more than what you need. On the converse, if you’re looking for a more robust version, you can go higher than 5,000 keywords by paying them to install it on your OWN SERVERS! What software companies will do that? You could set it up on your own server and monitor like 100,000 keywords potentially.

- It monitors the landing pages the ads go to when clicked. This is only the most important part of the whole thing, so I’m glad it’s included!

- You can narrow your spying down to the local level. So if there’s a local business you want to take down, you can monitor the PPC competition in a certain zip code, country, state, whatever you want.

- The Bully Feature – You can put your most profitable keyword phrases into this portion of the software and they’ll be monitored 24 times a day so you can see if they are just running in the morning, night time, whatever. So you can see if the competitor runs their ads all day long, or sets a low daily budget and has them running only part of the time.

- The price tag! My GOSH. You know, I look at this thing and I can’t help but kick myself for paying $300 a month for a tool that was only about half as versatile and informative as PPC Bully. It’s really super affordable when you think about all the information it gives you.

I could go on, but I think you get the point. The important thing I’m sure you’re wanting to hear is what negative aspects there are to PPC Bully. So, here we go…

Negatives to PPC Bully

- It’s only compatible with Google. So you’ll have to do your own spy work on Yahoo and MSN campaigns.

- The starter package doesn’t allow you to monitor a giant list of keywords. You start with 500 though, and really, thats MORE than enough if you were to just monitor like the top 10 money keywords in any niche. You could potentially be spying on like 50 niches if you did it that way, but it would be nice to be able to import like 500 keywords PER NICHE to monitor. So you’ll need to chose which keyword phrases you want to spy on wisely…Not exactly a negative though because it might actually cause you to focus a bit more.

- It doesn’t do the keyword research for you. As I stated above, one of the things I LIKE about PPC Bully is that the data they provide is based off of actual real time results that have been monitored over a period of time. But because they don’t just grab stats from thin air, you’re going to have to do your own keyword research. After finding the keywords you think are the main ones being bid on in Google, enter those into PPC Bully to find out your competitors ad performance stats.

You could either use another tool for this, or simply use the Google Keyword tool to see which phrases get the most traffic and do it that way. It’s really up to you.

All in all, if you do PPC quite a bit, you know that ANY tool that’ll give you an edge over the competition is a tool you need to have. Even if it’s a small edge.

To use this tool to it’s full ability, it would be a good idea to grab a copy of the old Day Job Killer, which actually talks about a sweet method using this very information…Except back then you had to do all the tracking yourself without this software to provide the needed data!

I trust I’ve given you enough information to decide whether or not PPC Bully is right for you or not. If you have questions about this product that I didn’t answer in this review, please post them here on this page and I’ll get back to you ASAP with the best answer I have!
