Outsourcing: Just Do itSubscribe Subscribe

So we’re testing the saying “you get what you pay for” with this one. By the time the entire business is created from start to finish, here’s a break down of what I will have spent:

Domain name: $9 @ namecheap.com

2 ebooks, and 2 videos for the product: $1,000 @ guru.com

Premium minisite design with all the trimmings: $346 @ minisitefrog.com

Excellent sales copy from an up and coming, yet proven copy writer: $795 from Chris Ramsey. (Can be found at WarriorForum.com or through his site www.chris-ramsey.com )

ClickBank account for processing: $50

Total Investment = $2,200

So, now it’s a matter of ROI. The entire business should be created for me within 2 weeks. That includes Banners for the affiliates to use, and everything.

The only expendature I’ll have after this, is advertising costs to get the word out, and recruit affiliates. Should be easy enough, using PPC Bully 2 , Commission Blueprint, and perhaps if I get feeling froggy, Affiliate Announce.com.  But this part would simply be icing on the cake, and totally not necessary. We’ll see.

Hope this is really helpful for you guys. I’m enjoying it.

It should take me about 60 or 80 sales to recoup my investment, including my initial adspend. Perhaps less if conversions are really hot.

After that, it’ll be an established business, that required no other work than niche research, and hiring the freelancers. total time invested on my part, about 1 hour, 30 minutes.

    Hey Brian,

Cool idea for a live outsourcing case study. Just did one of my own on my blog at:
    http://imOutSourcerer.com.

Like your idea better! Longer term payoff!

Are you planning on showing the outsourcer selection process? How about working with the writer to make sure they keep on track? Are they also doing the videos? Have you seen their work?

These are areas I’ve found that can derail an outsourcing project.

More outsourcing resources can be found here (shameless plug):

I’ll be following your case study! Good luck!

Basically, I chose those who had good feedback on over 20 projects. That went for the minisite,(minisitefrog.com rocks) the product itself (found an awesome dude who knows this stuff inside and out, with tons of great feedback and writing experience), and the sales letter.

The copy writer is up and coming, and could potentially be my one “chink in the armor”, but I’ve seen his stuff, and he’s charging a fair price I believe. So I think he could go either way, and I have reason to give him the benefit of the doubt. But you definately need to be careful in this area. Most copy writers aint cheap, so you wanna get someone who will provide unlimited revisions, and work with you until you’re happy.

Other than that, it was all straight forward.

The guy making the product has shown me several work examples, and it’s superb. Very happy with my selection there. He’s also making the videos.

So what was the outcome of this project? I’d love to see the final result. I am thinking of using MiniSiteFrog. Did they really get a first design back to you within 5 days? – Cheers, Stephen

Very cool to see steps in action, and how easy it can be. Granted you still have to bring attention and care, but its all doable. As the post above… I’m very curious to see your results as time passes on this project. Please keep us posted. I wish you great success.

Me too: What happened with this project?
The suspense is killing us ;-)
I am interested in how you will do the product launch – which could be an entire different case study…
My best wishes for this project – Christoph

While i have experience doing this on a smaller scale with private label rights I do have plans to expand into this model.

What are your PPC costs or rather budget for this project?

Be blessed and be a blessing.
