MinisiteFrog.com – $446 for minisite + Special Graphics
These guys ROCK. Took about 8 days to get everything back, but it’s all high quality and gives the product a very professional feel, enabling the copy to do it’s job without a crummy look weighing on it. Very important for clickbank sales page type websites.
Sales Copy by Chris Ramsey – $800.
I was able to work a deal with Chris for a slight discount, but $800 is what it’ll cost you to get him to write you a sales letter. I didn’t spend $20,000 for Vin Montello, but I believe the copy is really workable, and should convert quite well. Even if it doesn’t, it’ll only require minimal changes, (which the really expensive copy would likely need as well) after testing it with traffic. So, not having to learn the ins and outs of the niche and bang my head against the monitor trying to write decent sales copy, was for me well worth the money.
Product Creation – Guru.com. Cost me $1,000 Smackers!
I use all kinds of freelancer websites. Rentacoder.com, getafreelancer.com, odesk.com, elance.com, etc…But when it comes to product creation, I prefer guru.com because it’s easier to find a specialist who knows a particular topic really well.
Such was this case, and I was fortunate enough to work with a guy who not only had the knowledge, but was a certified powerpoint guy, and a decent writer. He had made several solar panels himself, and was more than equipped to make a step-by-step video series, and to write the ebooks on this topic.
EasyClickMate for Affiliate Management – $67
Lets just say I’ll never be a CB Vendor without it again. I LOVE this thing. (Thanks to Matt Davis for the recommendation)
Clickbank Account Setup - $50
Domain name – $9 @ namecheap.com
Now, today is the first day I’ll get a chance to test some traffic on this project. I’m offering $50 commissions on the front end product ( I do plan to integrate a few upsells & downsells shortly), so any affiliate that wants to jump on board and make some nice cash, sign up to be my affiliate! You will be able to track your sales at the keyword level if you’re a PPC Marketer. Details in affiliate area, as well as tools, tips, etc…all due for completion shortly.
So, if you were to copy my outline above to get yourself an entire business built from scratch by OTHER EXPERTS….Then up to this point, you would need:
$2,346.
HOWEVER…
You can get simple ebooks written for you a LOT cheaper than $1,000 which almost 50% of the cost for this project. Just make sure you get something that’s really quality. It’ll make you more money in the long run to have a valuable product because you’ll have less refunds. RULE #1, make your customers happy.
Also, you could write your own sales copy and make your own website.
I for one would rather let people who are better than me at those things handle those tasks and I’ll stick with the marketing and sending traffic.
But this should go to show everyone that even if you got really top notch stuff from fantastic freelancers such as the ones I’ve used in this case study, you could have an ENTIRE BUSINESS created, and making you money, for just over $2,000.
Get your niche research down, and learn how to drive targeted traffic, then you’re good to go. (of course you could outsource those tasks as well, but hey, I have to do SOME work or I’ll go crazy).
Consider how much money you’ve spent on internet marketing “how to products”.
Ever paid $2,000 for a single course? I HAVE.
They launch every week. Stepping into the game with all the parts already intact is THE WAY TO GO.
The option of course is to buy out an existing busienss…But we’ll have to save that for another post =).
This week, when you’re tempted to buy that next great product with a huge price tag, step back for a second and consider that you could have another money making website built for you for the same price.
Best of luck to all that give this a shot. I’ll keep you updated on my progress. I’ve gotta get promoting so I can make all my money back!

Posted on June 26th, 2009 at 5:52 pmHey Brian,
Congrats on the new launch! It looks amazing. And thanks for providing the step-by-step breakdown on how you achieved each part. Silly me never would have even thought to hire someone outright to create a product from scratch… especially more than just an ebook.
Speaking of, can you share, show or provide a glimpse of the video content you had created? I’d love to see a working example of what was developed for you.
Looking forward to tracking your progress.

Posted on July 11th, 2009 at 3:12 ambeautiful post – I tend to be a control freak but took what would be a big step for me and hired a coder after spending a fruitless night on a project. he got it done in an hour and cost me $30.
Opportunity cost of NOT outsourcing is a huge component most people don’t consider. How much revenue would you miss out on even if you could do all those parts yourself, just considering all the time it would’ve taken you?
