Media Buying TestSubscribe Subscribe

I think this video is pretty straight forward but if you have any questions about how or why I did certain things, just post them here and I’ll be glad to answer them. I plan on updating this “media buying test” in a few days with results I get from the first few hundred clicks to my banners from the 70+ websites I will have them running on.

Remember, if you’re going to try this, its important to get your banners displayed on MANY websites, especially if you’re going the Google Display ads and Adbrite.com route. The Click Through Rate on most banners isn’t super high, and from my experience, never even comparable to that of a search campaign on Adwords. So don’t expect like 2% CTR’s. Expect more like a .3% – .8% CTR on your banners.

You can get really clever with your banner creation and increase your CTR, but if you’re like me and you’re no graphic design artist, you’ll need to pay other people to make those banners for you to split test, unless the affiliate manager for the product you’re promoting has a really big selection already.

A great service to use for banner creation is 20DollarBanners.com. Check them out.

I’ve also made it a point to choose a product with a REALLY HIGH pay out, just incase conversions aren’t so great. I fully expect them to be, and I expect the traffic to be REALLY CHEAP, so it should be good. But you never know. I’ve been surprised before by things I thought were a sure fire home run, but then again, that’s why I’m doing this test =)

I hope you’ll join me daily on this, and with future marketing tests on this blog. Subscribe to the RSS feed on the home page, and opt in to receive updates about new posts I make regarding product reviews, and marketing analysis for various techniques.

Enjoy!

    Hey

Nice video mate. But if you put a video on youtube to say the test was disallowed, why then do you have this video here still. I thought you could have uploaded a second test by now and we would have been watching in.
