SubscribeLast February, 2008, when Frank Kern launched Mass Control, Bob Serling followed on his tail with the introduction of “Million Dollar Licensing”. I also own Million Dollar Licensing, which is a really good product in my opinion and perhaps I’ll do a review of it in the future, but for those who couldn’t afford the high dollar price Mr. Serling placed on his course, I’ve got GREAT NEWS for you.
Around the same time last year, Matt Davis created what is in my opinion a much more “clever” approach to this concept of licensing, and released his course Easy Licensing Pro through Clickbank, at very affordable price for the average person at just $67.
For those of you who don’t know what licensing is, it’s basically the act of allowing someone to use something of yours, in exchange for a fee, without actually selling them the rights to it.
For example, lets say you’ve got a really good marketing idea. Like it works EVERY TIME you run your campaign. Perhaps it’s an email sequence you use to send out to a prospect list and it converts like crazy no matter what the niche is.
Now, lets say you meet someone who has a list of like 15,000 prospects, and they are having trouble monetizing their list. You agree to let them use your sure fire email campaign strategy, in exchange for an upfront retainer fee + a % of the profits that come in from sending the emails…
This is the popular example Bob Serling uses to explain how his licensing strategies work, and actually, most of the Million Dollar licensing strategies focus around this type of strategy.
Matt’s Easy Licensing Pro, however, is a more of what I like to call “ninja”. You won’t have to send any FedEx letters to CEO’s, cold call people, or anything like that. It’s designed for the truly LAZY person who wants to send an email to a vendor, and hook up some sweet cash.
While Bob Serling’s approach is effective for someone who’s really got some balls and has no problem approaching high level business people, Matt’s system doesn’t even require you to ever speak with the person on the phone. It can completely be done via email.
I was so impressed with the actual strategies that Matt teaches you to go and license that I actually was ready to USE some of these strategies on my own list! I mean it’s purely genius to approach a business / list owner and offer to let them use these services, but it’s a completely different thing to use them on your own business, which I find to be even more profitable.
With that being said, lets look at a few of the key attributes of Easy Licensing Pro.
The core teaching is made up of 8 solid videos, that won’t take hours to watch. Matt’s teaching style is very, blunt, I would say. He just tells you exactly what to do, and gives you the exact template emails to send to licensing prospects.
A lot of people will really like his teaching style because it won’t take you more than an hour to learn everything. You can literally take Easy licensing Pro and hook up deals the day you buy the program if you hit it hard.
It’s all about the law of averages. Matt told me that his biggest customer complaint is “I approached like 7 or 8 vendors and didn’t land any deals. this doesn’t work!”…
Typical really…Most people don’t give strategies the proper effort and time to reap the benefits of their genius. If you only land 1 deal for every 10 you pitch, then you know you need to be sending 10 per day if you want to land one new deal a day, right?
If you want to land 3 deals a day, you’ll probably need to approach 30 web masters. Follow me?
I’ve personally seen Matt put these deals together and reap thousands of dollars in return. In fact, if you haven’t already, go over to Easy Licensing pro and watch Matt’s proof video. He’ll show you one deal he recently did that pulled in a little over $2,100 for like an hour’s worth of work. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take $2,100 an hour all day!
What Easy Licensing Pro is Not…
It’s not as robust of a system as Bob Serling’s 300+ page guide, and in all honesty, the deals you’ll cut using Matt’s techinques will likely be in the $1,000 – $20,000 range typically. Whereas Bob’s strategies will earn anywhere from $1,000 – $1,000,000, but obviously those results are atypical to say it nicely.
If you’re really going to get into licensing you probably should buy both products, but if you are looking for something to get your feet wet with first, check out Matt’s licensing strategies. For a measly $67 investment, (compared to $2,000 for Million Dollar Licensing), you’ll get just as good of an idea about how to go put some deals together, and in my opinion, have more specifics in terms of “actionable steps” you need to take to make it happen.
In other words, Matt’s product is a lot more practical, and newbie friendly. As a special unnanounced bonus in the members area, Matt gives away some mastermind recordings from some Millionaire Marketers, and you might be surprised to see who shows up in that call =)

of Million Dollar Licensing and your right , Bob Serling can be a bit overwhelming
and that,s a nice chunk of change starting out , but Mat way is nice and condense

There are literally hundreds of thousands of web biz owners to use Matt’s strategies on…And most of the ones you would think about still haven’t been approached. Even if they had been (which I’m guessing there’s a 99.9% chance they haven’t) it’s all about presentation.

You’re right on in your review. I actually have both products and
I have to say you are spot on!
I do have tons of balls and have no problem approaching
business owners but ELP is so simple to automate it’s just
insane.
Brian, I only have two questions:
1. Since I already have the product, I’m curious to know is
there any way you can make it available by other means,
ie: direct purchase, bonus etc..
2. If you wouldn’t mind contacting me me about how you’re
progressing with Bob’s material, i would love to mastermind
with you. In fact, I found a sneaky, 100% free way to get a free
pass into a ton of businesses that I have yet to hear ANYONE
talk about at all from the MDL group!
In any case, I’d love to treade ideas with you!

ps: I HIGHLY recommend BOTH products. I was making money doing
licensing deals (ie: making money with ideas) before I even knew what
to call it and made a lot of ca-sh. This really is a killer review of two great
products.
