Can you guess what my review of Commission Blueprint is?

POSITIVE!

Hands down, Commission Blueprint is the best PPC marketing course online for the money. I’ve purchased $2,000 courses that don’t contain as much detail and simple genius as Commission Blueprint. So, let me give you a little info about what’s included behind the scenes once you get inside Commission Blueprint.

The training is set up mainly by video. There are 14 sections broken up into 18 videos. Each video comes with a transcript, and robust list of resources. The majority of which are all free.

These guys also give you their templates to use when running your PPC campaigns after watching the videos so it’s truly a plug-n-go system.

The highlight of Commission Blueprint for me was the keyword research section. The detail that went into it was bar none the most in depth training I’ve ever seen on the subject of keyword research. You’ll learn how to use both free and paid tools to make keyword research a fine science, and nearly gaurantee a successful campaign inside a few weeks.

This was also my first exposure to any training on how to use Adwords Editor, Google’s free adwords editing tool that makes life a lot easier! If you’re not using Adwords Editor yet, and you do a reasonably good amount of PPC spending each month, you definately need to go through this course, even if that’s the only reason you go through it.

In addition to the awesome keyword research, I thoroughly enjoyed the section on niche selection. I think I can tell you without exposing any trade secrets that these guys don’t promote anything typically that doesn’t pay out at least $30 per sale, and converts at 1% or better.

This isn’t a course for learning how to find un tapped niches at all. Its more of a “here’s a product that sells like crazy, and here’s how to out market everyone else in the niche”.

The negative aspects of Commission Blueprint are:

1.) The training assumes a certain knowledge base. If you’re a green newbie, then you’d be more suited going through something more general, and free, like The Affiliate God by Ryan Moran. That’s over 60 videos of free training about how to make money with affiliate marketing. I’d say that’s a pre requisite for something of this level.

2.) Not only is Commission Blueprint not very newbie friendly, its some what technical in its approach. A lot of people are throwing around the word “blue print” in their product titles, but these guys weren’t messing around. You’ll need to pause and replay a lot of the videos to get the exact details down when it comes to setting up your adwords campaigns the way they teach you.

But, thats a good thing. I mark it down as a negative for those who are looking for a big red button to push and make Google spit cash out of your disk drive…If that’s you, Commission Blueprint is not the product for you. It takes work!

But for that reason, it also qualifies as a positive. There are no false promises in this product which was a delight and a bit refreshing for me. They made the big claimes, and delivered, and that’s something truly rare.

If you’re thinking about buying Commission Blueprint, you can rest assured that you’re thinking a good thing…It’ll pay for itself if you’re not a lazy person.

    Brian,

How does the Adwords content compare with that of Perry Marshall’s ‘Definitive Guide’? Or do you consider both products worthwhile?

Of course I know that this product focuses on building affiliate sites, just interested in a comparison of that section of the program. Thanks :o )

The definitive guide is a must read for anyone just getting started, but I think Commission Blueprint is a much better teaching of the subject because I learn better with Video than I do with an ebook. The keyword research section was way more detailed too.

I’m not saying it’s better by any means because Perry Marshal rocks, and so does all of his stuff including the definitive guide to Google adwords, but I really enjoyed commission blueprint.

Awesome, thanks for the reply Brian! I have to say that my three favorite affiliate information purveyors are you, Ryan Moran and Perry!

    Hi Brian,

I read over your webpage and am very interested in Commission Blueprint. I would definitely want to earn an extra income online. Before I go ahead with the purchase, here are some questions I have for you.

    1. When Steven and Tim mentioned about those sales figures such as $109,151 in 30 days, how much advertising costs on adwords would I expect to pay in order to earn this revenue using the methods taught on the product? I mean, the sales figures are great but can your methods ensure that my advertising costs on adwords would be lower than the revenue being generated? This is a simple question and yet so important.

    2. When Steven and Tim mentioned that the methods being sneaky and tricky, does that mean that eventually google will find out about it and won’t allow this method to continue? I am asking this because I want to develop a long term income with Internet Marketing and not just to earn some quick cash. Also, will the methods be used so competitively that eventually they won’t work?

    3. No offense but I am very curious on why you decide to sell this product(Commision Blueprint) instead of using the methods to earn affiliate incomes from other clickbank products. Afterall, Steven&Tim mentioned that internet marketing is not the niche where the money is coming from but this is exactly where you are marketing now.

    4. If I go forward in using your methods to do this affiliate business, do you think I have any competitive advantage given the fact I reside in Hong Kong and know Chinese?

Thanks in advances for your help. I do have some background on internet marketing having done some online business few years ago but I had trouble controlling my advertising cost. Anyway, look forward to hear from you.

    Rgds,
    Stan

    Stan, thanks for the questions.

1.) The ad cost is probably 50-60k at a minimum I would think. That definately isn’t all profit. Tim and Steve are all about scaling, and they do a great job teaching you how to find a profitable product to promote to ensure you don’t lose your butt on Adwords. You won’t ALWAYS double your money. But if you follow the blueprint I’d say most of your campaigns will have a 25-75% ROI once you find your winning campaigns.

2.) The methods are in no way black hat, or short term money makers that will be slapped by Google or overly saturated. It’s just plain awesome teaching on how to do White Hat Google Adwords marketing.

3.) No offense taken…But realize the purpose of this blog is to review marketing products, not simply to make a profit. Many of the programs I review I don’t even affiliate myself with. This is a blog before it’s a money maker…Commission Blueprint is geared towards other niches because it’s an Adword product, and you’ll get slaughtered on Google trying to promote stuff with keywords like “make money online.”

4.) Well, these aren’t exactly MY methods. But if you follow the commission blueprint tactics I think you would possibly have a competitive advantage if you promote in Chinese. Mike Geary for example, the owner of Truth About Abs which is a top clickbank product, recently released a new version in German, and he’s tearing it up.

    Hope that answers your questions!

    Grace and Peace

    Brian

    Brian,

Just had a couple of quick questions: What are the upsells when you order Commission Blueprint? Are they worth it? And how many of the tools that they suggest using are pay tools/which ones are they?

    Thanks! :o )

  • Brian

Posted on February 19th, 2009 at 5:15 pm

The upsell is basically to join the monthly thing, which you don’t have to do. You get a forum and support and that kind of thing if I remember correctly. There are 3-4 paid tools recommending but the only one I personally purchased was Market Samurai for keyword research. It’s really good. He also recommends PPC Spy and a few others but they aren’t really needed to use his system. The nice thing about Commission Blueprint though is they teach you how to use their system if you DON’T buy the recommended tools, so its nice.

    Hope that helps
